Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Together we will explore some of the 20th Century Yiddish poet Itzik Manger's clever and poignant retellings of the stories of our biblical forebears. Manger was interested in the ironies inherent in the stories, and in what is unsaid - particularly among the women of our tradition. He also frequently used anachronism, resetting Torah in the Poland of his youth. We will read some of these poemns in the Yiddish and puzzle them out together, cracking open the language that many of us were denied acces to, and drawing forth the delight.
