Heading for Extinction and What to Do About It

Climate change is increasingly in the spotlight around the world. But just how bad are things really? What can we do about it?  The planet is in ecological crisis: we are in the midst of the sixth mass extinction event this planet has experienced. Scientists believe we may have entered a period of abrupt climate breakdown. This is an unprecedented global emergency. Humanity faces a grave risk. In this talk, I will share the latest climate science on where our planet and our society is heading, discuss some of the current psychology around climate and ecological breakdown, and offer solutions through the study of previous social movements. I will also discuss how we can approach this universal issues as a community of Jews.

This event aims to:
• Raise awareness of and tell the truth about the current environmental crisis, within a Canadian context.
• Arm the Jewish community with facts they can share with neighbors, friends and family.
    •    Consider what we can do about this in Vancouver / Lower Mainland
